Pastor Vandy C. Simmons
Rev. Simmons is the Senior Pastor of Antioch AME Church, Stone Mountain, GA. As a pastor and servant of God, Rev. Simmons endeavors to leave any charge under his care, better than he found it. He has a special commitment to the youth, elderly, and marginalized people that inhabits God’s earth.
Rev. Vandy C. Simmons, a native of Tifton, Georgia, was raised in the Baptist Church, served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church, and matriculated to the African Methodist Episcopal Church some twenty-three years ago, Rev. Simmons is a graduate of Tift County High School, Valdosta State University, and Turner Seminary of the Interdenominational Theological Center and a retired educator from the Clayton County Public Schools System.
Rev. Simmons stands firmly on a deep commitment to his family. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Dr. Bonita Morrow Simmons, an employee of the Atlanta Public School System. He is a proud father and grandfather. He has two sons, Vandorian (Rockledge, FL) and Vankeithin (Valdosta, GA), a daughter, Vankeila (Houston, TX), and two grandchildren. Nakai and Dorian.
