why you should visit antioch

Antioch AME Church strives to be a church in the community for the community. We are a warm, caring and compassionate church that is committed to providing ministries that engage and support people of all ages, ranging from our youth, young adults to our senior members. We are not a perfect church, but we strive to be Christ-like through our love for God, worship & ministries

Who we are

Antioch AME Church has been in existence for 150+ years in DeKalb County, Georgia. We are a bible believing church, committed to Kingdom building. We belong to the African Methodist Episcopal Church, which is a part of the International Connectional AME Church.  We encourage you to browse our user-friendly website to become more acquainted with our ministry, mission, service, and work in the Kingdom.

about the african methodist episcopal church (a.m.e.)

African - The church was organized by people of African descent and heritage. It does not mean that the church was founded in Africa, or that it was for persons of African descent only.

Methodist - The church’s roots are of the family of Methodist churches. Methodism provides an orderly system of rules and regulations and places emphasis on a plain and simple gospel.

Episcopal – The church operates under the episcopal form of government.  It means that the church is governed by bishops. The chief executive and administrative officers of the African Methodist Episcopal denomination are the Bishops of the church.

How to become a member

We would love for you and your family to join Antioch. Though we gather weekly for worship, praise and fellowship, it is most important to ensure that all have the opportunity to find Christ. Following the preached Word (sermon), we extend an Invitation to Christian Discipleship. During this period, we encourage you to please come forward. If you seek prayer or consultation on your decision to join the church, you may contact our church office at 404-299-3388, or via email cscott@antioch-ame.org Monday through Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
